Turks and Caicos Wedding Requirements

Windsong Resort

If you're planning a Turks and Caicos wedding at Windsong's resort on Grace Bay, the requirements for obtaining a marriage license are as follows:

• Passport ID - Please be advised that any Passports or documentation written in other than English should be translated in advance and notarized by the applicable consulate. Tel: 649-946-2800.
• Original birth certificate
• A search of the registry, country/state where you reside (stating that there is no record of marriage).
• Proof of marital status: If single, a sworn affidavit is required. If one of the parties is a divorcee, then a Divorce Decree is required; either the original or a notarized copy, sealed by a Court Clerk. In the case of a Widow/Widower, a Death Certificate of the previous spouse is required. In the case of change of name by Deed Poll or Adoption, then proof is required.
• Immigration status (for visitors, please show the Immigration Entry Card given to you upon arrival to Providenciales).
• 2 declaration forms and 1 application for special license form (Application and Declaration forms can be obtained from the Registrar General's Office or from any Marriage Officer). A fee of $100 cash must accompany the license application.
• If either party is unmarried, being a citizen or resident of a country other than the U.S.A., a declaration certifying this fact must be sworn before a Notary Public or other person authorized to administer oaths in that country and must accompany the application for the Marriage License.
• If under the age of 21, then consent of one or both parents or guardian, in the form of an affidavit stamped by the Notary Public.

All copies must be notarized or certified.

Visitors or Tourists must be in the Turks and Caicos Islands 48 hours before submitting an application for a marriage license to the Marriage License Office. The parties must produce evidence of the date of their arrival in The Turks and Caicos Islands. The application is then sent to Grand Turk for approval and takes 2-3 days. Your Turks and Caicos wedding ceremony can take place at Windsong, our Grace Bay resort, once the application is approved.

Note: Marriage Licenses are issued at the Office of the Registrar in Providenciales in the Sam's building located in Butterfield Square in Providenciales. This office is open to the public Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
